Mohamed Hadid's Unfinished Bel-Air Mansion

Mohamed Hadid, a reality TV personality and real estate developer, bought a 1.22-acre lot in the coveted Bel-Air neighborhood back in 2011 with the aim of building a 30,000-square-foot mansion. However, his ambitious plans exceeded the allowable size limit, which resulted in a half-finished and code-violating structure.

As the battle between Hadid and the neighbors ensued, the Los Angeles County court deemed the structure to be a "danger to the public" and ordered it to be torn down. After a failed bankruptcy attempt to stop the demolition, the property was put on the market for $8.5 million, and later for $5.5 million, before it was eventually sold for just $5 million at an auction.
